We are currently receiving a number of requests from companies in the USA, South America and other English-speaking countries to join our Comos International Administration Forum (CIAF e.V.).
We appreciate those requests, many thanks for your interest in our association.
For historical reasons, at the moment we are a strictly German-speaking club. That applies our internal communication, our homepage and our online forum. The good news is, that we firmly plan to expand our association and to offer a membership to other countries than Germany, Austria and Switzerland 😀 .
Unfortunately, there is always a “but” 😮: this enhancement comes with a lot of work for us to do 😟. We cannot simply switch the German language in our software to English. Not everybody in Germany speaks English. So the homepage has to be made bilingual and for the discussions in the forum we have to implement an online translator .
Considering the different languages and time zones we have to discuss, how to organize our meetings and events to fit all the needs of our members.
Last but not last there are legal questions to be answered, regarding the internationalizing of our statutes and the IP-Policy of our association.
That all is feasible but takes a lot of effort. If any of you have some good ideas or suggestions, you will be really welcome to share and discus those with us. Please don’t hesitate to contact us, we are extremely grateful for any help.
To cut a long story short: the expansion to English-speaking countries will come, but it will take some time.
